Canadian Whisky Cocktails with Northern Bounty

August 5, 2026 · True Theory Spirits Team · 4 min read

Northern Bounty Canadian Whisky is distilled from Canadian-grown corn and aged four years in oak barrels. The result is a smooth, creamy whisky defined by rich vanilla, caramel, and balanced oak. Here are five cocktails that let those flavours shine.

1. Old Fashioned

  • 2 oz Northern Bounty Canadian Whisky
  • ¼ oz simple syrup
  • 2 dashes Angostura bitters
  • Orange peel

Stir with ice and strain over a large ice cube. Express the orange peel over the glass and drop it in.

2. Whisky Sour

  • 2 oz Northern Bounty Canadian Whisky
  • ¾ oz fresh lemon juice
  • ½ oz simple syrup
  • Egg white (optional)

Dry shake, then shake with ice and strain. Creamy, tart, and perfectly balanced.

3. Manhattan

  • 2 oz Northern Bounty Canadian Whisky
  • 1 oz sweet vermouth
  • 2 dashes bitters
  • Brandied cherry

Stir with ice and strain into a chilled coupe. Garnish with a brandied cherry for a classic finish.

4. Maple Old Fashioned

  • 2 oz Northern Bounty Canadian Whisky
  • ½ oz Ontario maple syrup
  • 2 dashes orange bitters
  • Orange peel

Stir with ice and strain over a large cube. The maple syrup deepens the whisky's caramel notes.

5. Hot Toddy

  • 2 oz Northern Bounty Canadian Whisky
  • 4 oz hot water
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • ½ oz fresh lemon juice
  • Cinnamon stick and lemon wheel

Stir honey into hot water until dissolved, add whisky and lemon juice, and garnish with cinnamon and lemon. A Canadian winter essential.

Aged Four Years in Oak

Northern Bounty's four-year oak aging gives it the depth to stand up to classic cocktails and the smoothness to sip neat. Available as Northern Bounty Canadian Whisky 750 mL and Northern Bounty Canadian Whisky 1.75 L.
